GULFPORT -- To be a good steward of your treasure, you should learn God’s ways of handling money. You should learn how to save (“A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children” (Proverbs 13:22)). You should avoid debt (Proverbs 22:7 says, “The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.”). You should learn how to be content (1 Timothy 6:6: “Godliness with contentment is great gain.”). And you should teach your children how to properly handle the treasure that God has blessed to them (Proverbs 22:6-8 “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”). Sign up for Financial Peace University (FPU) and learn about these and many other scripture references on how to properly handle money. There are nine weekly lessons that start on Wednesday, June 12, at 6:30 p.m. Contact Ed Brennan (228) 234-7601 with any questions.
