Catholic Day at the Capitol will take place on Wednesday, February 27. The day will begin at the St. Peter Cathedral Parish Center in Jackson from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year’s Catholic Day at the Capitol will focus on Criminal Justice Reform and will feature John G. Koufous, the National Director of Reentry Initiatives Right on Crime and the Executive Director of the Safe Streets and Second Chances initiative; and Haley M. Brown, an Oktibbeha County Prosecutor and Mississippi State University Law Professor. After lunch, participants will walk to the Mississippi Capitol Building’s South Steps for a press conference by Bishop Louis Kihneman. Afterwards there will be an opportunity to observe the sessions in the House of Representatives and/or the Senate, to tour the Capitol Building, or to meet with individual Legislators.
