If you want to use a “Checkoff List” to track a couple’s progress in their marriage preparation, several options are presented here. If you think this will help you, just select one of the options shown in outline to the left that best fits your situation.
For Priests and Deacons who have officiated at many weddings, a “Short Checkoff List,” may be all that you need as you prepare your couple.
Some clergy like to use the “Couple Guide” handout as a checkoff list. It comes from the “Diocese of Biloxi Marriage Preparation Policy,” effective 1 January 2020. The Couple Guide lists the steps engaged couples can expect during their marriage preparation in an easily tracked chronological order. Spaces are included so dates can be easily recorded as each step is completed.
The “Step-by-Step” guide includes web links, roadmaps and other information intended to help clergy who are “first timers” and for those who only occasionally officiate at weddings.
