Banner: Size for the banner is from 3ft to 4ft wide and 6ft to 8ft long. All banner stands are made to hang banners 3ft to 4ft wide. Each banner is designed to depict the theme: "Seek" We ask that you please do not put your parish name on the front side of the banner. The banner should have a hem, up top big enough to put a dowel rod through it.(You need to provide your own dowel rod. This will help your banner hang from the banner stands we provide. Banners have been made out of cloth, burlap, fleece etc. and decorated in many ways. Use your imagination. All banners may be brought over to the convention center when your group arrives for the opening session.
Display Table: Each group gets half of an eight foot table to display their group in any way they wish too. Some do Science fair style posters, some just have a scrapbook and some do crazy and wild things, but stay within their boundaries of four feet. It is just a way to show off what your group has accomplished during the year. You are responsible to bring your own table cloth for your display. Some groups put give-a-ways on their table. WE ASK THAT YOU DO NOT PUT GOOEY CANDY or GLOW STICKS, THAT MAY MESS UP THE CARPET IN THE CONVENTION CENTER.
Friday Night: If I have to describe Friday night in a nut shell, it would be a combination of a Mardi Gras parade, an old fashion Chinese Fire drill and a huge family reunion. Groups create or buy things for their group to give away at the opening session and with that usually comes with some type of costume, hats, props etc. which depicts the theme. You can only imagine what the ideas are. When the doors open at 7:00 pm. the craziness begins. Groups come in chanting their parish name, giving out things, dancing in conga lines to the music of our house band. They are all around checking out other display boards, as they are being put up. People are putting up banners; people are going around trying to find people they met at other activities throughout the year. To be honest if you sit back and just watch, you miss the experience. Just jump in and go with the flow.
